Çeşme, Alaçatı and Ilıca are Izmir's most popular holiday areas. The nearest airport is Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB). The road distance from the airport to Çeşme centre is about 97 km; via the Izmir–Çeşme motorway (O-32) the drive takes 1 h 10 – 1 h 30 min in normal traffic.
1. Private transfer (VIP transfer)
The most comfortable door-to-door option. The driver meets you in the arrivals hall and takes you and your luggage straight to your hotel or villa. The price is known before the trip, which is especially handy for late-night flights and larger families. A Mercedes Vito seats up to 5 passengers, a Sprinter up to 7.
2. Taxi
Airport taxis are available around the clock, but the metered fare adds up over a long distance and the vehicle type and luggage space are not known in advance. Ask for an approximate fare before you get in.
3. Car hire
Makes sense if you want to explore the area during your stay. The motorway is tolled, so check that the car has an electronic toll tag (HGS). In summer, parking in Alaçatı and central Çeşme can be difficult.
4. Public transport
The cheapest but slowest option: you first travel into the city, then to the Üçkuyular terminal where the Çeşme buses depart. With changes and luggage the journey can take 2.5–3 hours. Seasonal airport shuttles may also run; check current timetables before you travel.
Practical tips
- In summer, traffic builds up towards Çeşme on Friday evenings and towards Izmir on Sunday evenings; allow extra time for your return flight.
- Large vehicles may not be able to enter Alaçatı's narrow stone streets; give the full address and, if possible, a meeting point in your request.
- Share your flight number so the pick-up time can be adjusted if your flight is delayed.
